I got my "accident" for the year out of the way, so hopefully no more!!
I was holding onto Rachel's doorframe (where the hinges are) and she shut the door. I broken 2 bones in my pinky and one bone in my ring finger. I figure it could had been worse--and been in my right hand--but it's not. It's the left. We thought we would have to cut my ring off, but we got it off with dish soap and a torniquet. Since I'm allergic to narcotics--I'm living on 4 Ibuprofen and Tramadol. Not working too well. I'm also on an antibiotic because of the risk of infection due to my fingers wer cut open and we don't need a bone infection! I'm more mad that this happened to me than anything. I was in the process of starting to paint Jacob's bedroom. I guess it will be another 6 weeks until I do that.

Hurrah!

Finally--after 2 weeks of snow on the ground--they plowed our road! (As long as I don't need to be anywhere) So--I went to town and decided to just cut my hair off! It was down to my waist---bangs trying to grow(only to my mouth so far). It wouldn't curl--too straight and thick. So--I got it layered. She cut about 8 inches off. I can still touch it from the back, but I kind of miss it. I do like the layered look when I don't have it pulled up. I left my bangs--I've worked so hard to getting those long. Temps are suppose to rise to 40's and this all goes away. David was going to take the kids to see "Bedtime Stories" and I was going to have the house to myself. Well---since we live in a big county where "other" cities/towns are more important, no one had taken care of any of the roads(except farmers with tractors and maybe some "Stanwood" road crews?) David tried to get to the movies and he got stuck 6 times. So he came home.

We have been in a "Flood Watch" since 12:00pm. But once again---the weatherman forgets about us in north county and it has been SNOWING for a couple of hours now. Heavy snow, windy, not raining!! Once again--another day in the house.

I'm doing laundry, packing for Anna to get ready to go to KC to visit Grandma/grandpa Melugin with David. It's very beautiful when all the green is covered in white. Especially when the sun shines through the trees and makes the snow sparkle. The dogs love it. The kids love it. You'd think it was the best thing in the world! Snow at Christmas time. Sledding down big hills or through our trees--trying to not get killed....
Yeh--right!
You can't get out of the driveway without chains. And by some chance you do get out without chains--you slide everywhere because of the 6 inches of ice that is under the snow on your unmaintainenced, in the middle of no-where neighborhood. I really think the couple of feet we got is enough. It was great the first day or 2, but nearly every single night--more snow. Not just a dusting, but 6" here, 6" there.....
Even if the sun had melted alittle bit of it--it made up for it during the night.
More is to come tonight also. Only another 2-5". Not too bad. But.....it's all going to start leaving tomorrow!! The temperatures are going up and then we get the soggy, dirty, slushy, ugly, wet ground. Mud will be everywhere. The dogs and kids will not be tracking in snow anymore, but mud!
Hard to believe that winter just started 2 days ago.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SVFIaFbcHCI/AAAAAAAAAJE/eiOBQtLs8gs/s320/IMG_0240.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283083450853366818" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SVFIZ6J7VLI/AAAAAAAAAI8/v38SZRRPjng/s320/IMG_0224.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283083447827125426" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SVFIZZqHz2I/AAAAAAAAAI0/D1n_8Klo2fs/s320/IMG_0141.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283083439103790946" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SVFIY39oRQI/AAAAAAAAAIs/2OrRouM6Q3M/s320/IMG_0052.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283083430058804482" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SVFIYiwRHjI/AAAAAAAAAIk/osLS8kwBpJw/s320/IMG_0079.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283083424365616690" />
YES--that is my son in the pink! We got about 4-6 inches, maybe? I was privedged enough to be able to drive in it! I had to work last night and the 20 minute drive took 1 hour, 20 minutes. 20min to get to I-5. And 1 hour to go 11 miles on I-5--at 25 mph. Of course many accidents and not being able to move at all at times.
Not a good combo for me--who has a big, heavy van, rear-wheel drive, and very bald tires. Doesn't help to know that David was in St Louis and the kids were home alone.

Going home, it only took 45 min. Some of the snow has melted today. It got up to 34 degrees here. I did miss all their fun playing in it--while I was sleeping.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SUWjEXRFLCI/AAAAAAAAAIc/iqMF3sronY4/s320/006.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279805433522236450" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SUWjDwUsgRI/AAAAAAAAAIU/eFH6rI4o-IM/s320/012.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279805423068414226" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SUWjDf9W3MI/AAAAAAAAAIM/dL2HLMCmXQI/s320/010.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279805418675559618" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SUWjDLf6hKI/AAAAAAAAAIE/bn8v8KUbA34/s320/013.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279805413183358114" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SUWjCvWgNuI/AAAAAAAAAH8/HrnbDKQKezY/s320/002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279805405627692770" />

Sarah's Birthday

For the child who doesn't want anything for her birthday....

She got Jane Austins Complete Novels from her friend--Holly. What happened to my precious little baby?
She is growing up way too fast. She's already planning to move out as soon as possible. And of course--she says she's never having children!! It went good, except for Jacob's. His behavior is really getting in the way of things.(potty talk, pretending to pee on things, etc)All for attention. He needs small groups and they are taking away his resource room for reading(they had already moved him to regular class for that within the first month). But now they have to remove it from his IEP. He still has math there--but really doesn't "qualify". Writing and social skills (which he definitely needs!!) Academicly---he never did qualify for resource, except for the needs of social skills. They can't challenge him there. He is right on grade level.

They are going to do a behavioral plan for his current behavior problem and try to get him in a very small 2 to 1 group for math. (there is a 4th grader who is alittle behind)

I wish he could just be in small groups all day. He probably wouldn't have any of the behavior problems. He is much better and gets his work done.

They also said his attention is not very good. She doesn't know if it's from his ability to not process info fast enough--so he's already lost before she is finished explaining things. Or if his mind is already gone thinking about Legos, Star Wars, and whatever is "stuck" in his head that day (last week it was going to Legoland for his B-day---What???) This weekend--it's asking me every few minutes if we can be on "Opportunity Knocks" game show, so we can win alot of money so he can buy thousands of "Clones"(Lego). Or "Deal or No Deal". I learned "Patience" a long time ago......

He is already maxed out on his ADHD meds. So I don't know what we are going to do next...

Laundry Continues...................

Today is Tuesday and the laundry is still going. I have 5 garbage bags left to do. I know I should have just went to the laundry mat, but I decided not to. I hope the washer/dryer don't go out. (or the hot water tank!!)

I need to comb Anna's hair again, but tonight she has AWANAS. I haven't nit combed it since Sunday. At school they check her when we first get there. She still has nits, but they are dead. I plan on treating her again tomorrow. But this time I'm using Listerine and Vinegar instead of poison! The listerine kills them if there are any left and the vinegar loosens the glue so the nits come off. We are also using Tea Tree oil in shampoo. Right now, David actually has some Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner we're using. Lice do not like the smell of tea tree oil.

I knew there was another reason why one should homeschool!!!!

Can it get any worse?????????

What is the ONE prayer that you pray everyday about when your kids attend a school? My very worst fear--actually a phobia has arisen itself!!

LICE

Yes--LICE!!!

I can handle fleas, but not lice! Poor Anna. She is the worst kid to have to get it. Her hair isn't very long (for some reason it just doesn't grow fast), but it's thick. Thicker than any of us. And....CURLY in the back. I'm not talking wavy---she has the curl that is so curly--it's frizzy.

So, I bought the treatment--nasty chemicals that are toxic to everyone and just did it. Then I attempted to comb out her hair---1/2" at a time. It only took 6 1/2 hours!
That was on Saturday.

Sunday--no church--of course! I put Olive Oil on Anna's head and then saran wrap with a shower cap. Took Rachel and Jacob to get their hair cut and "checked". They were clean!! Praise God! But guess who wasn't----ME. I'm not surprised. She crawled into my bed a few nights before all of this. At least I only had a few nits. (I did treat myself on Sat. night--just in case).

Got home and rinsed Anna's hair. 3 hours with olive oil and that should have taken care of the one's we missed. Only 3 1/2 hours of combing that time. At 7:oopm---I went to the hair place(after hours) and my beautician secretly did my hair for me. It only took her a total of 1 1/2 hours. I left the poison on my head for 20 min instead of the 10 and we even used the dryer some.

So what am I doing this week? Laundry. Not only do I wash Anna's bedding, but the whole house!!

Horrifying Day!

Got home at 9:30am from dropping the kids off at school. Rachel stayed home today because she needed to see Dr Ann, our psych. I have appts with her the first Thursday of every month to talk about whichever kid I needed to. I got Rachel up and we were out the door by 10:00am. As the neighbor left her house to walk her dog, we backed out of the driveway. We saw a dead cat down the road. Rachel jumped out of the van and ran to the animal along with the neighbor. I pulled behind them in the van. It was who we thought it was---"Leo". The only cat in the whole world that every single person on our road loved! Friendly, outgoing, NO FEAR--of anything. The cat would jump into everyone's cars when they would open the door. Or into your house when the door opened. Great cat!

The worst thing for anyone is to find the cat, in a pool of blood with the head smashed. Especially hard on Rachel---who considered this cat--"hers". She's been crying on/off all day. Cried at the psych's and can't go to sleep tonight. I'm sure the image is fresh in her mind of that cat on the road.

Sarah's ankle update

Her ankle has finally gotten bruised now. It's really not a "diet" in the sense of the word. It is actually a total body detox. I'm going to TRY to do the minimum amount of 10 days. Some people do it for 40.
It's suppose to rid your body of all toxins that have built up over the years. It give you more energy, heals cells, and even can cure allergies.

Of course--you have to go through the detox phase (those first few days). I may get headaches(my diet coke withdrawl), irritability, cramping, bloating, vomiting, raw throat and tongue, may develop sores in mouth, even old injuries aching (my previous sprained ankles, broken toe, etc......) as the healthy cells are trying to heal my body. Of course for all this detox to happen----you spend alot of time in the bathroom....

I plan on really starting this tomorrow. Right now--I'm drinking my first cup of organic, herbal, laxative tea. In the morning--I get to drink 1 quart of salt water! YUM!!! Then nothing but my lemonade mixture-----fresh squeezed lemons, pure maple syrup, cayenne pepper and spring water. About 10 glasses a day! For 10 days.
So far the tea tastes like nothing. No wonder why I hate tea so much.
I will try to write something everyday on my progress...

NOT AGAIN!!

While I was at Anna's soccer game today, Sarah decided to do it again! The kids had fun though. Too much candy, like always. Sarah went to her friends house from 6-10p. They watched some shows and ate candy and Pepsi. (I'm anti-Pepsi--Diet Coke only in our house!) I took Rachel and her friend, Jacob and Anna, treat or treating in a subdivision in town. They all ended up with about half of a pillowcase full. When we got home, our neighbor hadn't gone yet and Anna and Rachel went with them just around our area. They were gone only about 30 min and came back with more than we got from in town!!! Next year we are staying home and going around our block (1/2 mile). The thing about around here---no street lights, very dark, and the driveways are soooo long and creepy by the lake. I didn't even take pictures of the kids!! We decided to stay around WA. Gas is too expensive to go anywhere else. We did go to the Great Wolf Lodge. It was fun. But, like always, Jacob got bored quickly and he still has fears of alot of rides. We stayed there one night and two days. Then off to the ocean. That was fun also. But it is ALWAYS windy and ALWAYS cold there. How I wished we were in Florida!! Jacob obsessively collected "whole" sand dollar. (broken ones would not do!!) Sarah walked, and walked, and walked. For miles!! Out of our sight! It was getting late and the sun was setting. So Jacob and I went on the search for her. After over 2 hours of walking on the beach---we finally caught up with her. We made it back in 1.5 hours, thanks to the wind on our backs. That was about it. Nothing too exciting, but it got us away from the house.

School started and it actually is going very well for all the kids. Jacob had a rough first 2 weeks, but now he's great! Rachel changed schools to the one Sarah goes to and it has turned out great also. She has 4 spec ed classes with 2 different teachers. She also has a "skills" class in which they learn how to organize their planners and do homework. She has 1 general ed class which is WA state history. It's actually a high school course in which if she passes---she won't have to take it again. It is worth 5 credits towards high school. The teacher is great and she has an aide in there to help. Anna of course is still "Miss Social" and loves school and her friends. She is also playing soccer this fall. Sarah is the same, school is going fine for her as always. I can't believe she will be in high school next year!!!

Whoever thought?

If you thought the foot on the left was broke---you were wrong. My foot is on the left---Sarah's on the right. Sarah BROKE her ankle on Monday, Aug. 11th. I sprained mine on Thurs the 14th. Sarah ended up with a boot cast and crutches. I ended up with an ACE wrap (later an ankle brace) and crutches. Sarah was finally able to bear weight on her boot cast the next Monday. I was able to get rid of my crutches the same day. Sarah never had any bruising, but looking at the picture---it appears that her foot has generalized swelling. Mine was very pretty. Bruising ended up on both sides of the ankle and all toes. Even up the side of my leg. The bruising is finally fading---10 days later. Still gets alittle swollen by bedtime. Sarah still uses ice at night.

If you are wondering how this all happened.........

Well, Sarah was putting her PJ's away after getting dressed, while listening to her iPod (to the "Happy Working Song" from Enchanted) and did a little leap. Came down wrong and that was it.

Me---After falling off the horse we lease (saddle slipped), I was walking her back to the house and twisted my ankle in a old, hard tractor rutt. Thankfully, my horse is very good and managed not to step on me after I fell in front of her.

That's the story. Hopefully it won't happen again were 2 people in this house are injured at the same time!

WHICH ONE IS BROKE?

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SLD6we634oI/AAAAAAAAACI/puIbhvlr1q8/s320/047.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237962077472547458" /></a

LEFT or RIGHT?

Once again......

It's been a long time since my last entry. Last week, Jacob got his allergy testing done. There were about 50 pokes to his little arm. Since he is allergic to the numbing cream they normally put on, he did great without it! He never felt the pokes or much of the allergens. He did itch a bit. The last 10 or so allergens were not as painfree. They would burn, but he was great!
He ended up being allergy to everything they tested for except for cottonwood tree. His high ones were dog and cat. No wonder he always looks so horrible all the time. He won't be getting the shots, but the oral drops that go under your tongue. Sarah wanted to stay home. She took care of all the animals for me. David was in Omaha. The weather was nice and we went to the waterslides. My children's behavior wasn't the best. Anna kept busy with her friend--but was starting to get bossy. Rachel got overstimulated alot with her sensory issues and flipped out quite a bit. ADD kicked in and it wasn't long until she was bored at everything we did. Jacob was "Jacob" and I realized that the kid really does have some social delays. He can't be in public without me by his side directing every move or word that comes out of his mouth! For example...he was in the hot tub at the pool with about 10 kids and adults in it, and out of the blue, he blurts out "I'm going to chop you up with a chainsaw!" WHAT? Where'd he get that one? He told me it was from a commerical. Great! The kids in the hot tub made fun of him and asked him why he talked funny,(he repeats words over an over again). They threatened to punch him also because he was so annoying. I should have intervened, but I didn't. I wanted to see how he related to others. I only see him with family or close friends. I did call him out of the hot tub and about 15 min later he returned. Anna and Bella were in there now also. Jacob got in and splashed and everyone finally gave up and got out. I've never seen a group of people all move at the same time like that. Poor Jacob. But the good thing is, he didn't realize that they were making fun of him. He hadn't a clue.
All I ever see or hear about is how he is in school. But those kids know him and are very patient with him. They even help him get though some of his frustration times when he freaks out and is under a desk.

Overall it was an OK trip. Nice to get away.

It's Been a LONG Time....

I can't believe it's been about 3 weeks since I've blogged last. Lots has happened.
Before school was out, Jacob poked himself in the eye with a scissors---at school. Of coarse the school never called me, but there was good reason for that. I guess he told his teacher that he had dirt in his eye (he kept rubbing it). Sent him to the office. He told them he had dirt and then he said he poked himself. They gave him ice and that was that. He gets to the car after school and tells me he poked himself in the eye with a scissors. He doesn't know what end of the scissors--just that it was blurry and it felt like dirt was in his eye. I called the eye Dr and wife (which we are getting to be good friends with) and they told me to come in--at 5pm. (it's out of their house). His eye never looked bad and it was red on the cheek bone. Well--to all of our surprise, he scratched his cornea. Super! Good thing it heals fast. We got some drops and bought the "bandaid" type eye patch so he doesn't scratch during the night. Well--he's allergic to the eye patch now. Big red circle around his eye--lasting a couple of days. He healed and is fine.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dz65sV0ffHY/SGR0hD9Yu0I/AAAAAAAAAB4/HdLSXkPvB8A/s200/041.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216422379749161794" />

Next very important news---Rachel and I have 2 horses now. We got a lease and we are able to ride any time. Rachel is learning how to groom, clean hooves, etc. There are no saddles yet--so she is learning to ride bareback. She did buy a bareback pad that gives her alittle more security. The horses are great. Rachel likes to ride with halter and no bridle/bit. Today she cantered! Her first time ever! Only fell off 2-3 times, but with grace and landed on her feet!

David is once again gone to Denver this time. But only for 4 days. Our plans this weekend are to get the pool up. I'm still working on digging our dirt for the pool. I'm not sure if I can get it all done and gravel and still have time to ride. Of course Rachel thinks she needs to ride every day. :)

Our First Baseball Incident!

I know it would happen someday! My baby Anna has lost her first tooth! (she'll be 7y in 4 mo)We will never have another "first" tooth to be lost again. "sigh". The Tooth Fairy came and she got $1.00. I hope this doesn't start a trend of losing teeth. The tooth fairy has had a nice break for awhile. Jacob seems to start wiggling teeth until they come out so he can get money! We got a phone call from David's mom in Missouri. His dad fell (they say 30 feet) from a tree and broke his back. He was cutting branches in Bennett Springs, MO. He was taken to Springfield and is still there. They didn't do surgery and he will get a back brace. Thankfully, the spinal cord is intact.
David is leaving early tomorrow morning to go to Omaha, again. He will drive to KC and help his family out. His dad should be home from Springfield by then. He will then fly to San Antonio, TX for another job. The next weekend he will go back to KC to see his family. Then...once again, back to Omaha and then hopefully come home. So we probably won't see him for about 3 weeks. Please pray for David's family that his dad will heal quickly. And for me--home again with the kids, alone!

Another Week Has Past!

David's been gone to CA this week. He should be landed by now at Seatac. Once again--a busy week and weekend. The weather was beautiful! I worked outside the whole weekend transplanting tress and bushes, buying more plants and planting them. I'm also making a cement border around my trees. Hard work. But I love it. The kids wished they had the pool up, but too early for that yet. They were satisfied with water balloons and the sprinkler under the trampoline.
After last week's follow up appt with the Dr for my toe--I got referred to a foot specialist. We were wondering why my toe won't bend. Had that appt yesterday. The break itself looks good and healing fine for 3 weeks. The trouble is that the tendon that allows you to curl your big toe under ripped away from the bone. The other tendon is intact. But....the tendon that is there will be pulling my toe up. I have no working tendon pulling it down. So for now, I have to tape my toe down so it doesn't bend. I also have a very "attractive" hard boot I have to wear. I still have pain---but s-l-o-w-l-y getting better. This is all better than surgery, in which the Dr was against. He said it was a really bad surgery to do and long recovery. I don't have time for that! The other option was to fuse that joint. But that would be down the road a few years if I still have problems.
Never a boring day around here!

It's Been 1 Week Already!

I can't believe that it's been a week since I've been on here. Time goes by faster and faster the older you get. David's been home this week and left this morning for Oregon. He's driving back tonight and leaving early tomorrow morning for San Fran, CA. He will miss our beautiful weather this week and will not be home until next Weds. All the kids are in school today and after I drop off Anna, I will be heading off to Walmart and hopefully getting back before morning ends.
It's one of those Thursdays again, but even busier. Rachel has 4-H at the same time that Jacob has baseball pictures and practice and the science fair. Sarah has youth group. Tomorrow--Rachel is going to try to spend the night at her friend's church and go to Prince Caspien on Sat. morning. Sarah is spending the night at her school with the other 7th grade girls. Then I'll pick her up early and take Jacob, Anna and her to Prince Caspien with our church group. Everyone is excited waiting for this to come out. All they've been watching is Narnia for the past couple of weeks. We finally bought the books and Sarah read Prince Caspien in about 2 days. Rachel is attempting to read The Magicians Nephew. She doing OK with it. Over Jacob's reading level. He's into the Magic Tree House books. Need to go and drop Anna off at school and start my busy day!

The day is over!

Well, I made it! The kids made it--but not in bed yet. I went to the Mother's day tea. It was great! I first picked Rachel up at school early, then headed over to the school. Rachel helped out the resource teacher while I was at the tea. When school was out, I took them to the book fair in the library. Which of course caused a mini-meltdown. Jacob thought he needed a 3-pack of Indiana Jones Books. Not even the new book. So I drive them home to get the dog ready to go. Major meltdown in the van--kicking seats and windows. He was thirsty and needed something to drink NOW. And of course it had to be cold. I didn't get him anything until home. Then we loaded everyone back up in the van after being home for 10 min. Jacob dressed for baseball and Rachel ready for 4-H. We picked up Sarah from track and headed out to the Island. Dropped Rachel off and went to Jacob's game. Dropped him off---yes by himself and took Sarah home. Then back to the game. 30 min later---leave Jacob and go back to the Island to pick Rachel up. Back to the game for another 30 min and then home. Sarah decided not to go to Youth Group. We got home about 7:30p and time for dinner---which consisted of Organic poptarts from Costco and Costco cake from David's birthday last Sunday.
The game--I glad I didn't miss Jacob hitting the ball--if he actually hits it. The first game he did great--hits way out there. Then---all other times--he can't hit it at all. Today--he would swing too early. Then, after some coaching from one of the dads--he swings--hard and there it went!! Flying through the air towards the "coach--pitcher". Not the ball-----the BAT!!!! Luckily no one was injured. I wish I had my video camera! The next hit---he hit it again very hard and it almost made it to the fence--left side, but was a foul.
The day is finally over. Only 2 more kids to get to bed. Oh yeh--I sold a bunk bed on Craigslist today and made $320.

Busy Thursdays

Thursdays I think are my most busy days. Even though all 4 kids are in school today, I find that the day goes by really too fast. Today I have a Mother's Day Tea with Anna in her Kindergarten class. After school, we start our rushing around. School's out for Rachel at 2:20p. Then Jacob and Anna at 3:30p. Of course I pick them up and drive them home. On days I pick up Anna, I pick up Jacob also. He hates that long bus ride.
After dropping them off at home, I pick up Sarah at 4:15p after track practice. Then, somehow, I need to get Rachel out on Camano Island (20 min away) with Scooter(the dog), for 4-H by 5pm. Jacob has a baseball game here in town at 5pm also! Rachel's done at 6:15 to 6:30p. Sarah needs to get to youth group by 6:30p. Jacob's not done until 7:30p---he also doesn't want me to leave him there alone (which is never a good idea anyways!) After all that--who's going to babysit Anna? I guess she comes with me today. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do all this. Did I mention that David is in Texas this week?

Will Spring Ever Come?

The downside to living in WA state is you never know when the seasons are here. We got snowed out for Jacob's first baseball game in April. Who would have ever thought something like that would happen? Now---we just had a pleasant weekend with temps in the low 60's. Guess what--more clouds and rain coming. I assume that's why we are called the Evergreen state?
David has left town again to go to nice, warm 90 degree Texas. He always seems to leave when the weather is yucky here.
Went to the Dr today for my toe. It's getting better--at least the way it looks. But it is extremely painful when a dog steps on it or a child runs into it! Ouch! I go back to the Dr in 10 days for another x-ray. She did say that it will take 6-8 weeks to heal. WHAT??? I certainly don't have time to wait that long......I guess I shouldn't have mowed or pushed the wheelbarrel up the hill last night.
Mondays are one of our busy nights. Rachel and I have dog obiedence class. Sarah gets to stay home and help Anna with her AWANA drive in moving night, cardboard box car. I guess I should be looking for that big box.

April 29, 2008

Welcome to the Melugin Monkey blog! This is my first time ever blogging and I thought I better start. If my sister and neice can do it---so can I! :) I don't have alot of time to write on here, but maybe I can make it a habit every couple of days.

I had an interesting weekend. Saturday was beautiful and a nice 68 degrees. I transplanted some trees, started digging out the grass to make a patio for the pool, etc. It was about 10pm and I was heading for bed. Well....I stubbed my toe---on the CARPET. All I can say is that it hurt--alot! I fell onto the bed. I looked down in the dark and thought I saw blood. I grabbed the first piece of clothing I found and wrapped it around my big toe. Made it to the bathroom as I yelled for someone to bring me some ice. I looked----lots of blood. My nail was bleeding profusely. I was going to lose it. It still hurt alot. I could not touch it at all. Wrapped it up and went to bed. I woke up Sunday with blood on my brand new sheets---everywhere. My nail was still bleeding--all night. Could not move my toe. Went to the Urgent care center and yes it was a nice fracture. I thought maybe they would take the nail off, but she didn't. Today is day 3 and it is still oozing. Since it's an opening from the nail bed into my fractured toe, I'm on antibiotics also.
What makes me really mad is that now I can't finish my yardwork, or paint inside the house, or anything that requires alot of standing!!!
