Before school was out, Jacob poked himself in the eye with a scissors---at school. Of coarse the school never called me, but there was good reason for that. I guess he told his teacher that he had dirt in his eye (he kept rubbing it). Sent him to the office. He told them he had dirt and then he said he poked himself. They gave him ice and that was that. He gets to the car after school and tells me he poked himself in the eye with a scissors. He doesn't know what end of the scissors--just that it was blurry and it felt like dirt was in his eye. I called the eye Dr and wife (which we are getting to be good friends with) and they told me to come in--at 5pm. (it's out of their house). His eye never looked bad and it was red on the cheek bone. Well--to all of our surprise, he scratched his cornea. Super! Good thing it heals fast. We got some drops and bought the "bandaid" type eye patch so he doesn't scratch during the night. Well--he's allergic to the eye patch now. Big red circle around his eye--lasting a couple of days. He healed and is fine.
Next very important news---Rachel and I have 2 horses now. We got a lease and we are able to ride any time. Rachel is learning how to groom, clean hooves, etc. There are no saddles yet--so she is learning to ride bareback. She did buy a bareback pad that gives her alittle more security. The horses are great. Rachel likes to ride with halter and no bridle/bit. Today she cantered! Her first time ever! Only fell off 2-3 times, but with grace and landed on her feet!
David is once again gone to Denver this time. But only for 4 days. Our plans this weekend are to get the pool up. I'm still working on digging our dirt for the pool. I'm not sure if I can get it all done and gravel and still have time to ride. Of course Rachel thinks she needs to ride every day. :)
